Lines of Wellington, mini TV series in Canada


The mini TV series of Lines of Wellington by Valeria Sarmiento will be released in TFO on saturdays 13th (episode 1), 20th (episode 2) and 27th (episode 3). Don't miss it Canadian friend.



CARLOS SABOGA won Best Screenplay Award


CARLOS SABOGA won the Best Screenplay Award given by the Portuguese Authors Society. This distinction celebrates Saboga’s work on LINES OF WELLINGTON, Valeria Sarmiento’s film that premiered at Venice Film Festival 2012.



Lines of Wellington in Belgium


Lines of Wellington will begin its belgian trip on December 17th at the cinema Vendrôme in Bruxelles, with a premiere presented by Valeria Sarmiento. The film will then stay in Bruxelles and will also be presented at the cinema Wellington in Waterloo, starting December 19th. Other venues in the following weeks include Mons, Charleroi and Liège.



Tonight is the parisian premiere of LINES OF WELLINGTON


It will be held at 8:15pm in UGC Les Halles, the biggest cinema in Europe.
Director Valeria Sarmiento will be present, accompanied by several members of the cast : Mathieu Amalric, Jemima West, and young Portuguese actors Victoria Guerra, Nuno Lopes, Joana de Verona, Maria João Bastos, Marcello Urgeghe and Filipe Vargas !



Lines of Wellington selected to Toronto, San Sebastián and New York


LINES OF WELLINGTON, that will be premiered on this year’s edition of Venice Film Festival, in competition, will also be part of three of the most important film festivals of the world.

At Toronto Film Festival, the film directed by Valeria Sarmiento and produced by Paulo Branco will be screened in Special Presentations section – one of the most important of the Canadian festival, that happens between 6th and 16th of September.



Lines of Wellington was selected to the Official Competition of Venice Film Festival


Lines of Wellington, directed by Valeria Sarmiento, was selected to the Official Competition of this year’s Venice Film Festival.

 

The film is one of the contenders for the prestigious Golden Lion. The 2012 edition of the Venice Film Festival will happen between 29th August and 8th September.



French invasion of Portugal adapted to Cinema with Valeria Sarmiento directing a remarkable and international cast


The director Valeria Sarmiento, and the wife of deceased Chilean helmer Raúl Ruiz, carried on the Mysteries of Lisbon's creator latest work, LINES OF WELLINGTON, featuring a star studded cast and fantastic screenplay.

 

With an original screenplay created by the awarded Mysteries of Lisbon’s writer, Carlos Saboga, the film gathers a lavishly remarkable cast that collects the major Portuguese actors and special participations of some unique international talents such as Michel Piccoli, Catherine Deneuve, John Malkovich and Isabelle Huppert.
